Ubuntu more popular than IBM!?

April 19, 2007

Well at least in terms of google searches it is.  I was curious to see with all the fuss over the new release of feisty just how popular ubuntu was becoming on google trends.

Not only that, but aparently “Ubuntu” is as popular as “intel” and more popular than “mazda” or “spain”.  See for yourself!
Now technically,  there’s other factors to consider… that “ubuntu” is an african word used to refer to other things than the OS, and “spain” has other spellings in other languages… but it’s still pretty darn sensational stuff!

Google trends doesn’t yet show the increase in searches for the release day of feisty, but I must say I’m curious to see what it will look like when it does (to the moon baby, to the moon!)
